Artificial Intelligence for Medical Imaging (AIMI) Virtual Workshop
Introduction:
The Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, in collaboration with the Arlington Innovation Center: Health Research at Virginia Tech, is developing a Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging (AIMI). The Center aims to advance a disciplined transformation of medical imaging service to the next level of excellence in serving the Veteran community and contributing to American citizens' well-being.
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) will bring about the next-generation digital transformation of healthcare with better outcomes and higher productivity. Radiology has been at the forefront of digital transformation over the past 30 years. As medical imaging has become ubiquitous throughout the healthcare system, the Center will be working together with clinical partners who rely on radiology services.
We have designed the workshop program to engage clinicians, academics, industry, and management in developing a strategy to take advantage of exciting new AI technology in serving our veterans.
This Virtual Half-Day Workshop will lay the foundation from which the Center of Excellence would emerge.
